According to CBC Newsworld, at the time of this writing (01/06/09), the Israel/Palestinian war score is – Dead Palestinians – 537, Dead Israelis – 5 civilians, 1 soldier. Sounds more like a basketball game between the Harlem Globetrotters and a Grade 4 Elementary school team.

Sure, Israel has the right to defend itself, yadda yadda, against missile attacks from Hamas – so sayeth everyone except probably what’s-his-face in Iran. It would seem that Israel has carte-blanche when it comes to shooting things, i.e. Palestinians, and it works especially well when the US is covering Israel’s butt. Not one country will tell Israel to give it a rest.

The only thing Hamas can do is fire their rockets into southern Israel. They have no other military equipment such as tanks, air support, actual weapons, etc. The Israeli air force on the other hand can fly in and around Gaza inflicting as much damage as their little hearts desire. They can roll through the countryside blowing up buildings with their tanks facing little or no opposition. Does this sound like a fair fight? No. Israel is, as usual, bombing the living snot out of whomever they want.

And the Israelis are well versed in offering up stupid reasoning to justify the bombing of schools, mosques and civilian homes.

The Israel Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tzipi Livni, suggests that “since Hamas hides in a school, we can blow up the school”, “Hamas hides in the Mosques, so we blow up the Mosques”, “Hamas hides in McDonalds, so we blow up…”. Yeah, yeah, we get the idea.

With this kind of seriously well thought out logic, we now know why the Israelis have such a heyday with their weapons.

However, the world has been short a country since the end of the Second World War and after Israel declared independence in ‘48. Or so I’m told. When would the ‘powers that be’ like to hand over the West Bank as a spot for the Palestinians to hang their shorts? Isn’t this on the table or let me guess, the Palestinians don’t like the scenery? Or does Israel need everything, including the Gaza strip?

Where exactly do the Palestinians want to go and at what point of in humanity’s timeline will the ‘powers that be’ fix this bullshit?

When Israel runs out of people to kill?
