The Prime Minister is to be congratulated on his firm backing for a presumed consent system for organ donations.
Already the moaners are moaning - it's sad that so many people would rather that their organs rotted in the ground or went up the chimney of a crematorium than sharing them with others after their death.
Perhaps the PM would also look into the pernicious ability of Next of Kin to deny the living the organs of the dead? As far as I'm concerned, what I want done with my organs after my death is none of the business of my Next of Kin!

It is too often seen that political rivals will "knock" each other.
May I start this new year by praising the integrity and courage of both Bob Wareing and Frank Field MP in respect of their support for a vote on the EU Constitution.
Both Members of Parliament have reiterated that the Lisbon Treaty represents a fundamental shift of powers from Westminster to the EU central institutions.
Dear Premier Graham,
Re: Ban on Cosmetic Use of Pesticides in New Brunswick
There is growing public momentum to ban the cosmetic use of pesticides in the Province of New Brunswick. Since the cosmetic use of pesticides has no countervailing health benefit and has the potential to cause harm, we, the undersigned, support a complete provincial ban on the cosmetic use of pesticides on lawns and gardens.
Exposure to pesticides, particularly where safer alternatives exist, is no longer acceptable. Municipalities have enacted bans but, ultimately, a provincial ban will ensure a consistent approach to this health hazard.

A PROPOSAL FOR VOTING WITH “PREFERENTIAL BALLOTING”
The voters of Ontario recently rejected a proposal for a “Mixed Member Proportional” system, believing it to be an unfair system. We agree. This system is very similar to the BC-STV system that the BC government proposes to take to referendum at the next BC provincial election. A similar negative result should also be expected here.
By now you will have heard that I have done the unlikely thing to walk over to the DA. I owe it to you and everybody else to explain why I felt compelled to take such a drastic step.
You and I have spoken before at length about what I perceived to be the shortcomings of the ACDP, as well as the fact that I saw no future for myself in the party. Very little of what I am about to say now has not already been discussed between the two of us.
I am leaving the party because of the lack of visionary and inspirational leadership. I joined the ACDP because I was under the impression that it would be a Christian party, both in essence and in spirit. My expectations have been progressively dismantled.
I am uncomfortable with the ethos of the ACDP. The party is being run more like a church than a political party.
